Ray Biggar

Associate Consultant


Mr. Biggar brings over 30 years experience in senior operating and management positions in the refrigerated logistics and warehousing to his role as an international consultant. He is the former President of the fifth largest refrigerated storage warehouse group in North America, Associated freezers Limited.

An engineer with strong management experience, Mr. Biggar's work has focused on the design, construction and efficient operation of refrigerated warehousing facilities and logistics in North America, the Middle East, Caribbean and Africa. Mr. Biggar has evaluated for acquisition purposes public refrigerated warehouse facilities throughout North America.

Mr. Biggar's recent consulting assignments have included due diligence for refrigerated warehouse acquisitions, design and construction of refrigerated warehousing facilities, ammonia leak investigations, new warehouse layouts and designs, management analysis and strategic planning assignments. Mr. Biggar's recent international consulting work has included advising the Government of Vietnam on supply chain quality improvements, advising engineering firms and food processors on modernizing warehouse designs and freezing operations and training Bulgarian researcher and refrigeration industry representatives regarding refrigeration technology and management. He has also worked recently with North American railroads to develop combined rail and truck routes for shipping hardy fruits and vegetables including apples, oranges, potatoes, carrots and onions from the US West Coast and Mexico to Eastern Canadian markets.

Mr. Biggar has served as the Chairman of the World Food Logistics Organization (WFLO) and Chairman of International Association of Refrigerated Warehouses, Refrigeration Committee. He has also served on the Boards of Directors of International Institute of Ammonia Refrigeration, the Refrigeration Research and Education Foundation and the Ontario Frozen and Chilled Food Association.

Mr. Biggar is a Professional Engineer, and completed a Bachelor of Civil Engineering, an MBA at McMaster University and a Master of Business Administration at the University of Western Ontario.
