Jason Veira

Jason is an experienced Information and Communications Technology professional with over 12 years operating in the Telecommunications Industry in the English speaking Caribbean. He started his career in mobile technology as project engineer for the GSM roll out for Cable and Wireless, one of the largest operators in the Caribbean. He has held leadership roles where he was responsible for strategy, design, build and operations of the Fixed Voice (Core and Access) and Broadband Access Networks for all Cable & Wireless markets in the Caribbean. During his leadership tenure, he delivered several key projects for Cable & Wireless including Local Number Portability in the Cayman Islands, Fibre to the Home (FTTH) network build-out, Hosted VOIP (IP Centrex), Next Generation Network (NGN) Transformation, SS7 STP Rip and Replace, ADSL2+ network upgrades.
Jason recently also worked for Ericsson, a leading mobile communications and managed services provider, where he led the Operational Support teams responsible for the Operational Performance of the Cable & Wireless Fixed Voice, Fixed Broadband and IPTV Networks.
Jason is now Principal Consultant at a Caribbean based ICT Strategy and Solutions firm, Northpoint Consulting Inc. (www.northpoint-inc.com) which offers ICT Engineering, Project Management and Business Professional Services. Jason holds a Bachelor of Science degree (first Class honours) in Electrical Engineering and a Master of Science in Project Management from the University of the West Indies. He is also certified by the Project Management Institute (PMI) as a Project Management Professional (PMP).
