Harry Wiebe

Managing Director

 

Mr. Wiebe has over 16 years of experience in international development, for the last eight years as Managing Director responsible for Health and Education at Great Village International Consultants.

He has completed a broad range of education and health projects in Asia, Africa and the Caribbean, finishing both short and long term postings as project manager and consultant architect. He is experienced in all aspects of development project management including contract administration, budget planning, construction supervision, procurement, writing Terms of Reference for consultants, and training members of project management units. Mr. Wiebe has prepared and supervised education and health projects in Kenya, Malawi, Swaziland, Mauritius, the Gambia and Mozambique with the World Bank, the African Development Bank and CIDA. He has also worked on projects in Laos, Nepal, Mongolia, Indonesia and Bhutan with the World Bank, the Asian Development Bank, CIDA and UNICEF.

Prior to 1994, Mr. Wiebe worked for eight years at Educansult Ltd. conducting educational planning assignments, including facilities planning, throughout Canada, the United States, the Middle East, Asia, and Africa.

Mr. Wiebe completed a Master's of Architecture at the University of Manitoba in 1986 and a short course in international development at the London School of Economics in 1999. Mr. Wiebe is fluent in English and German and reads French and Spanish. He has worked in Bhutan, Canada, Cayman Islands, Cote d'Ivoire, the Gambia, Germany, Indonesia, Kenya, Kuwait, Laos, Malawi, Mauritius, Mongolia, Mozambique, Nepal, Qatar, Swaziland, Switzerland, the United States, the West Indies and Zimbabwe.
